About Time

  • Prep Time: 15 mins
  • Cook Time: 15 mins
  • Total Time: 30 mins
  • Yield: 6  naan breads

Ingredients:

  • 150g (5.3oz) plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 180g (6.4oz) Fat Free Plain Greek Yogurt (not Greek Style)*
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh cilantro (coriander)
  • Sea salt
  • Cooking oil spray

Instructions:

    1. Reserve about ¾ tablespoon of flour for dusting.
    2. In a bowl, combine the remaining flour, baking powder, and pinch of sea salt.
    3. Add the thick Greek yogurt (without the natural liquid on top) and 1 minced garlic clove. Mix with a silicone spatula until all ingredients are combined and the dough forms a ball. Do not use your hands for this part as the dough may stick.
    4. Knead the dough with your hands and divide it into 6 equal-sized balls.
    5. Dust one ball of dough with reserved flour and place it between wax or parchment paper. Use a board or heavy saucepan to flatten it into a flat circle.
    6. Dust again and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into naan bread shapes (approximately 5×7 inches). Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining balls of dough.
    7. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat and spray with cooking oil.
    8. When the pan is hot, add 2-3 naan breads and cook each side for approximately 3 minutes until golden brown. Check frequently to ensure they do not burn.
    9. Once cooked, melt the butter and add the remaining minced garlic clove and finely chopped cilantro. Brush this over the naan breads and add a pinch of sea salt to each one.
    10. Serve and enjoy!
